Those "money bags" months things are alarmingly easy to disprove with a modicum of logic. Only once every 824 years! lol More like only 824 times in 824 years!

On a more cheerful note, my fairybunny is finally settling in to his new level of sight (without the calcium on his cornea). Yesterday we went to the other grocery store and he said "It's a lot brighter in here than it was the last time we were here......... Oh, wait, that's probably my surgery.." um, Yes, dear. It is. lol

Side note: I wish "logical" were one of my options for my mood. It fits so regularly. :)

So, what I'm wondering is why it takes him 4 hours to wash 2 days worth of dishes (for 2), and there's still coffee smudges in the bottom of his cup.

So, for poli sci I have to write a conflict journal, mentioning the wide varieties of conflict as my prof recognizes the concept, and reflect on it. She said that the quality of my reflections makes me wise! and she was serious?! lol

1:17 pm - a recipe I cobbled together.
Sage-Butternut Squash Polenta
Serves 3 or 4

½ Tablespoon Sage ¼ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper ½ Teaspoon Garlic-Salt
1 cup coarse ground whole grain cornmeal
1 ½ cups cubed frozen butternut squash
3 cups water.

Bring water and squash to boil. Add cornmeal, garlic powder, garlic-salt, and pepper, stirring. Turn down the heat. Keep an eye on it, it’ll splatter. Cook 10-15 minutes. Add sage. Stir. You should need a spoon to eat it. Add a handful of mash potato mix if it’s still too soupy, though.

“And the words of the Lord Tolkien appeared on the Internet. And thusly they proclaimed the commandments of the Geeks.

I. Though shalt not worship any false authors.

II. Thou shalt read of the holy trilogy every year.

III. Thou shalt not be led astray by the dark temptations of the false prophets of science fiction.

IV. Thou shalt count to nine and nine shall be the number of your counting, thou shalt not count to ten nor to eleven.

V. The Hobbits are not gay and neither is anybody else.

VI. Thou shalt not bear false witness against your fellow Geek.

VII. Thou shalt not name your child Bilbo or Galadriel.

VIII. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s Extended Edition.

IX. Thou shalt own a statue of Gollum and offer sushi unto it.

X. Thou shalt watch all three movies back to back every Sunday.”

I'm rather excited about Peter Jackson filming the Hobbit right now. squee! Smaug is a mean dragon, so that's okay.

You know, without the extra $100 fee for having a web class, I would not mind this one. Or if it actually utalized spiffy internet functions more than regular classes do. Feh.

My civil war quilt is coming along nicely. I need a bigger space to baste Snarry's and my collaboration and should ask my lys lady if I can come in and use her table on a slow day this summer.

Fairybunny likes my red sox shirt a little too much for a yankees fan. Its his favorite shade of bright red. He actually burgled it once!

Oooh, this purple sweater I'm making is coming along so nicely!

I'm starting to develop a mild interest in having an e-book thingy, at least for some books. I know Tea and Snarry have one each...what would you guys recommend?

Mystery! season starts tomorrow!!! Hooray!!

That tornado outbreak yesterday ripped through part of Jacksonville, NC (Camp LeJuene)...Grandma lives in the next town over, as does a bunch of the cousins on her side. Gram's okay, and doesn't know any of the poor people who died, but she probably knows someone who does. We got the tornado air raid siren that warns of nasty storms here on Saturday. I think it was the same storm but our winds were more or less straight-line and not so severe. The brief hail storm was impressive. We were on a bus. Meep! It kept going from sunny to pouring elephants and blue whales and back again. (it wasn't just cats and dogs) Now it's snowing on the northern half of Lake Erie, and raining on our half.

Happy tax day.

5:08 pm - Okay, I was amused anyway :)
Oh, I had a good laugh today!! I was reading Kerry's chorale music aloud (specifically the tenor line of Brahms' "Song of Fate" in German), while he Brailled. In "Song of Fate" there are several repeats of "blindling" which I think means blindly. I asked him if he should type the contraction for "blind" to make his life a little easier since it means the same thing in both languages. Worried about pronouncing the German in the English manner, he said, and I quote.

"No, I don't want to go blind."

Deaf Defying Customers
Retail | WA, USA
(Please note, I am hearing impaired.)

Customer: “Hello. Do you have any [brand] perfume?”

Me: “No we don’t.”

Customer: “But… but… I want it!”

Me: “You could try one of the outlet stores. Currently this store does not carry it.”

Customer: “Why don’t you call the store in Bellingham?”

Me: “I could check online for you to see if we have it in stock in Bellingham, but the stores do not carry it.”

Customer: *shouting* “Call the f***ing store!”

Me: “I’m hearing impaired. I cannot talk on the phone.”

Customer: “Just f***ing call them!”

(I proceed to call the store, but because I cannot hear I am constantly asking the person on the other end to repeat what they are saying.)

Customer: “What are you, deaf?!”

Me: “Yes, actually.”

Customer: “Oh.”

Now to start the fairybunny's birthday dinner and, Lord help me, angel food cake.

So, we had fun at the west side market, and yes, even I sang! Bry cycled between fun and grouchyness because of the crowd.

This is the official copy

You can actually see me and fairy bunny in this one. I'm in a blue red sox hat and colorful scarf, he's in a white shirt, red sweater, and blue jacket. (I keep facing backwards because I'm reading lips for the words)

Saw Harry Potter Saturday with the fairybunny (who was scared ;) ) And I kept obsessing over the blinking *SWEATERS* THey were so *shiny*

The movie was pretty good too, 'though I would be reluctant to take my imaginary pre-teen to it. Some nudity made me go squik (when the locket is messing with Ron's mind, it shows Harry and Hermione in a *ahem* compromising, vertical, position. blech.) There's a lot of violence, too, of course. And it was a far more visual film than most of the others, so a lot of it was just meaningless explosions to Bry.

We had fun on our anniversary....except for the really really bad tummy-ache of the female persuasion. You know its bad when you are physically nauseous. But I did have fun once the aleve kicked in, lol. Bry and I went to a quilt show and Dad gave us a gift certificate to the chocolate store. Friday, just before I started, blessedly, we had a spectacular dinner at Don's lighthouse. I had swordfish and NE clam chowder. Almost as good as Joanne's. :)

Stupid computer. Stupid ps3. stupid "upgrades" on qatw and hotmail that just seem to make my life more difficult. Stupid "wireless" that my husband insists on putting in so he can buy 30 year old games for the stupid ps3 that he's increasingly not able to see. Moves like molasses now, since he put in both "Isobuster" and "AlcoholSoft" yesterday. I'm going to read a paper and ink book now.

Just donated a whole bunch of my hair. Wigs for Kids was the preference at this place...which would have been complicated if I had white hair, lol. My hair is so short!! I told the lady that I want 11 inches left, but I suspect she was thinking from the top of the head, rather than the bottom. Oh, well, it grows :) And it's still to my shoulders. ...Not sure why my head's itchy now. Maybe a little sweat from the bike ride home? Maybe allergies? Maybe just cause it can? :p

Well, vacation at Grandma's was wonderful. We did very little, but did get to the fabric and yarn stores. Gram bought Bry some shirts a store called Roses (think Ocean State Job Lot) and one for me. We bought her lunch at Golden Corral. Aunt Carol commissioned me to knit a scarf for her doctor (she must really like him)and Grandma asked for a pair of hand-knit socks like the ones I was wearing. we went to the aquarium with Becky and LJ on Monday, (They left Tuesday, we arrived Sunday). Which was fun, as was the baby's birthday party. If I did it right, this picture is of Bry at the aquarium's outdoor section.
The flights were okay, 'though the first one on the way home was delayed just long enough for us to miss our connection nd get bumped to a later flight...so we got home at Midnight. at least that meant we could get dinner and icecream and tea! We'd arrived early at the airport heading to Grandmas. Some idiot boy was talking on his cell (presumably to his girlfriend) and periodically calling out "I LOVE SELENA!" which I'm sure struck them as very romantic. blech!! and you guys thought fairybunny and i were bad! At his 4th or 5th repeat (before 7am) I had enough, so I replied (inaccurately) "I LOVE COFFEE!" (it had a better ring than "I LOVE TEA") That got chuckles from other passengers and better still, got the kid to shut up!
Ohter news, I made dean's list; even have a paper to prove it. :)
I'm still really pleased that Marie-the-next-door-neighbor is home from the hospital and nursing home for the first time in 6months! My summer class starts Tuesday. I swapped blocks with my online group, and got awarded 2 gold stars *small happy dance* for making nice blocks. I've been busy. :)
